Program ID: BS4L-009
Duration: 6 hours
Overview
Most learning officers know that money spent on training is truly a long-term expenditure—the benefits of training
dollars spent today are not likely to be realized until some time in the future. Why, then, are learning officers so
likely to calculate the ROI of a training program, rather than its Net Present Value (NPV)?
This workshop focuses on the financial analysis of training and development options—not just from a theoretical perspective, but with an eye toward practical implementation. After reviewing some basic financial concepts, you will see why NPV leads to better business decisions.
Upon completion of this workshop, you will speak your CFO’s language, which will enable you to partner more effectively with your finance department—not just to make sound investments in training, but also to establish realistic expectations about the benefits to be gained.
Intended Audience
This program is designed for Chief Learning Officers (CLOs), and directors and managers of training operations for public,
private, nonprofit, and educational organizations interested in advancing their knowledge and competencies related to
critical learning processes.
